National Academies announces four climate change panels

The National Academies today announced provisional membership of four panels on climate change:

Panel on Limiting the Magnitude of Future Climate Change

Will answer the question:

"What can be done to limit the magnitude of future climate change?"

Panel on Adapting to the Impacts of Climate Change

Will answer the question:

"What can be done to adapt to the impacts of climate change?"

Panel on Advancing the Science of Climate Change

Will answer the question:

"What can be done to better understand climate change and its interactions with human and ecological systems?"

Panel on Informing Effective Decisions and Actions Related to Climate Change

Will answer the question:

"What can be done to inform effective decisions and actions related to climate change?"

Note: It is promising to see that three out of four panels contained an environmental sociologist - I know this because the good 'news' came through on the envirosoc listserve today.
.
I will come back with an update when more information or a final report comes through on the listserve.
